Energy bananas

Kategori: Allmänt

Soo we are back in the city again (stockholm) and getting back into the normal routine or the lack of it haha

I work weird hours and different every day, yesterday I coached in the morning and worked at Friskis at night, today I had to run errands and then coached at 2pm, tomorrow I am coaching in the morning and then working at Friskis at night again.. on Thursday though, I am going away for the weekend on a hiking trip!

Why??? you may ask.. Actually did not know if I could write about this yet but since my name and picture is now on the website I can.

Since the spring I am a part of the youth diabetes organization board (Ung Diabetes) here in Sweden and I have for the past months worked on arranging a hiking trip up north (Höga Kusten) that is happening now just in a couple of days!! I am both nervous and excited, hope everyone will enjoy their time and the weather will be good! :) I am super excited to be a part of the organization and have already learned so much, both in regards to diabetes and other things like arranging activites :P

This weekend we will walk about 30-40km in 3 days, so I will consider that my training for that time, however I am hoping to swim a little in the lake thats by the place we are staying at, if my shoulder will allow it! The Iron Man is not far away now and today I stocked up on some energy gels, bars, and drinks.
All the energy I will need to make sure I definetely have enoguh equaled to about 18 gels, 1 container of energy drink, 3 energy bars, 1 protein bar, and hydration/carb tabs. I realize that this is probably more than I need during the race ( I will definetely not finnish the whole energy drink container :P) however, what I have learned from the marathon and training rides is that I usually bring too little rather than too much, so I will not make that misstake for the Iron Man! :)

I also purchased a running hat, I have been looking at different ones in like all the swedish sport stores and initially wanted a vizor, but there were like none in any of the stores, other than for golfing. So I ended up with this cool one from Nike!

Tonight Mr. C and I went out for Indian food, it was delicious!!! :) We have had a very good day today, a lot to do which I like. We went to the stores to pick up all the energy supplies and the hat together, I got to borrow my parents car for the day so that was awesome!! It is such a freedom to drive everywhere, it is nice to be able to do it from time to time, THANKS mom and dad! Today I realized I have had my license for almost 6 years now, CRAZY! :)

One of the nights at the summer house Mr. C and I went to some cliffs by the open ocean called Valön, we went there at sunset after two very windy days... it was so cool!!

I should start packing... maybe tomorrow haha

NIGHT
