SHORT PRERACE UPDATE
Kategori: Allmänt
We are now on Öland, the island close to Kalmar where THE race is held this saturday! Not much more left than 24hrs until start soon and the nerves are increasing.. it is so awesome to finally be down here, today we registered and visited the expoarea for the first time.. and for the first time it felt like THIS IS FOR REAL! It would be a lie to say I am not scared for what I am about to do, because I am.. but I am also very excited to get going, to see what my body can handle, what I am capable of, and how far I can push myself with this disease.
Diabetes wise my bs has behaved this week, I have been thinking to rather take a little too much insulin than too little so I do not get high.. I figured that the week before the longest race of my life it is probably okay if I end up going a little low and having to eat.. thanks to my CGM (continous bloodglucose meter) I have been able to eat before going too low and taking extra insulin when I see that I am going high, my goal for this week has been to stay withing the range of 5-10 all the time, so I have been correcting bloodsugar levels at even 10 or 11mmol/L which I never do otherwise really.
Tomorrow morning we are going in for a swim on the course at 7am, which is when the race starts on saturday as well, so it will be a good rerun of the actual raceday.. but that means that I need to go to bed now! Maybe I will take a nap tomorrow, because I have a feeling that tomorrow night will be a more sleepless night haha I am looking forward to the joy of crossing the finish line sooo much I am just going to have to get there no matter what!
I am aware I havent written about the hiking trip, but I have been too busy.. I will make sure to write a post about it sometime next week thought, it was a trip definetely worth writing about! THATS FOR SURE! So many great views, people and moment all wrapped up into one weekend! :)
Some pics of lately and sneak peak of the pics from the hike ;)
Nighty night <3
